Abstract
The title structure, tetraethylammonium hio-cyanato)(2,2'-bipyrimidine -N,N')chromium(III), [(C2H5)(4)N][Cr(NCS)(4)(C8H6N4)], consists of dis crete [Cr(NCS)(4)(bipym)](-) and [(C2H5)(4)N](+) ions, The Cr3+ ion li es on a mirror plane and has a regular octahedral coordination polyhed ron. The bipym group is planar, with unexceptional bond distances and angles.
