We report the crystal structure of the unusual imide thylidene)bis(2,2
-dimethyl-1,3-dioxane-4,6-dione), C14H15NO8, which contains two Meldru
m's acid (dioxanedione) substituents. The geometry of the imide moiety
shows the effects of delocalization of the N-atom lone pair, while th
e overall conformation of the molecule is associated with the formatio
n of strong intramolecular hydrogen bonds.
