Cd. Watts et B. Hegarty, USE OF IMMUNOASSAYS FOR THE ANALYSIS OF PESTICIDES AND SOME OTHER ORGANICS IN WATER SAMPLES - TECHNICAL REPORT, Pure and applied chemistry, 67(8-9), 1995, pp. 1533-1548
Immunoassay (IA) kits were first developed for use in the medical fiel
d where they now have extensive usage but over recent years many kits
have been developed for determining pesticides and other organic chemi
cals in environmental samples. This paper provides a draft specificati
on for EIA kits and an experimental design for validation of their per
formance. Enzyme immunoassay (EIA) kits available commercially for ana
lysis of organic chemicals in water are reviewed in the light of the p
roposed requirements for analysis of pesticides in drinking water. Fin
ally, some recommendations are given regarding the use of the kits und
er laboratory and field conditions.
