This paper presents a new dc/ac single-phase converter. By equipping t
he inverter input with a resonant circuit, the switching loss in the s
emiconductor devices has been reduced and the electromagnetic interfer
ence problem has been rendered less severe, because the resonant volta
ge pulses have lower dv/dt. Moreover, due to the resonant-circuit pres
ence, a good sinusoidal voltage is applied to the inverter load. The s
imulation results have proved the merits of the proposed topology and
an experimental prototype has been set up on this principle to verify
the theoretical results.
