Abstract
Heart failure remains a major cause of morbidity and mortality despite optimum treatment angiotensin-converting enzyme inhibitors diuretics. Meta-analysis of recent placebo-controlled, randomized trials suggest that treatment with beta-blockers may significantly reduce mortality by 35%.
