Abstract
The presence of the gamma' phase in a very high proportion of some sin gle crystal superalloys, makes the development of constitutive equatio ns taking into account the influence of the precipitate necessary. In this paper, we present the results obtained by finite element analysis of a unit cell, with the assumption of periodic homogenization. Sever al situations are analyzed. The inconsistency observed on the overall behavior, between tensile and shear loading conditions is highlighted. A solution is proposed by introducing to the yield criterion an addit ional term depending on the hydrostatic pressure. (C) 1997 Elsevier Sc ience B.V.
