DIGITAL SIMULATOR PERFORMANCE REQUIREMENTS FOR RELAY TESTING

Working Group F-8 ''Digital Simulator Performance Requirements for Rel ay Testing'' of the Relay Input Sources Subcommittee, Power System Rel aying Committee, was formed in 1992 with the following assignment: ''I nvestigate performance characteristics of digital simulators when gene rating Electromagnetic Transient Program (EMTP) and Digital Fault Reco rder (DFR) based relay test waveforms. Write performance requirements specifications and prepare a paper describing the importance of the si mulator performance characteristics.'' This paper presents the work ac complished by the working group in fulfilling its assignment.
