Oi. Lebed et al., STRUCTURAL-PROPERTIES OF HEPATOCYTE PLASM A-MEMBRANES UNDER EXPOSURE TO CISPLATIN, ADRIABLASTIN AND EMBICHINE, Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 19(4), 1997, pp. 343-347
Effects of cisplatin, adriablastin, both drugs applied together, and e
mbichine upon structural properties of hepatocyte cell membranes have
been studied using fluorescent techniques. All drugs were found to ind
uce directed changes in lipid-protein relationships: decrease of the l
evel of protein immersion into lipid bilayer. However, other parameter
s of cell membrane conformation were differently affected by the drugs
under study. Exposure to cisplatin and embichine has no effect on phy
sicochemical properties of internal regions of membranes, while adriab
lastin and adriablastin with cisplatin induce an increase in microvisc
osity of hydrophobic regions of lipid matrix. Cisplatin does not effec
t structural properties of cell membrane surface layer, while adriabla
stin, applied separately or with cisplatin, induces an increase in flu
idity of surface layers of lipids, and embichine produces similar effe
cts in surface regions of membrane proteins.
