G. Raidaru et al., ISOLATION OF POLYSACCHARIDES WITH ANTITUMOR-ACTIVITY FROM BAMBOO GRASS SASA-KURILENSIS (FR. ET SAR.), Eksperimental'naa onkologia, 19(4), 1997, pp. 353-357
Two polysaccharide preparations, GK1 and GK2, were isolated from the l
eaves of the bamboo grass, Sasa kurilensis (Fr. et Sar.) by fractional
precipitation of leaf hemicelluloses B with Fehling's reagent. Both f
ractions had the antitumour effect on the growth of Sarcoma 180 implan
ted in mice, at the doses of 100 mg/kg given ten times with no signs o
f toxicity in mice.
