Abstract
A number of pyridines derived from -4-methyl-1,2-dihydro-6-oxo-5-pyrid inecarbonitrile (3) have been synthesized and evaluated for radioprote ction and cytotoxic activities. The structures are supported by elemen tal and spectral analyses. Most of the tested compounds displayed sign ificant activity as cytotoxic and/or radioprotectors.
