Abstract
This is a story about three microwave engineers who in the late 1950s believed that they had developed a very promising product. They worked in a large corporation, and could find no one in management willing t o take the risks of forming a suitable enterprise and commit the resou rces needed to develop and market that product, or to put one of them in charge.
