Abstract
Extremely high sea surface temperature was recorded along the eastern Adriatic coast in summer 1992 accompanied with the bottom temperatures below the long-term average. Extraordinary weather conditions over th e Adriatic, responsible for such thermal conditions, may be related to the global disturbance over the Northern hemisphere. There are some e vidences that such thermal conditions caused the absence of the Gonyau lax polyedra red-tide bloom.
