Abstract
An immunostimulating polysaccharide was produced extracellularly by su spension cell culture of Angelica gigas Nakai. The polysaccharide was larger in molecular weight than that obtained from the extract of A. g igas root. It was mainly composed of arabinose, galactose, galacturoni c acid, protein, Ca2+ and Mg2+, and stimulated the mixed lymphocyte re action activity as potently as the polysaccharide obtained from the pl ant root.
