Cy. Duan et al., CRYSTAL-STRUCTURE OF U-HYDROXO-BIS[TRIS(2-AMINOETHYL)AMINE]DICOPPER(II) PERCHLORATE, Transition metal chemistry, 23(1), 1998, pp. 77-79
A novel, high-symmetry dicopper complex bridged by only a single hydro
xo has been synthesized and structurally characterized. The coordinati
on geometry of copper(II) is a strict trigonal bipyramidal of C-3 upsi
lon symmetry. The three equivalent amino nitrogen atoms of the ligand
form the equatorial plane, while the tripodal nitrogen atom and the hy
droxo anion occupy axial positions. The bridging Cu-(OH)-Cu angle of t
he single hydroxo anion is only 136.5 degrees, which does not agree we
ll with data found in similar compounds. The magnetic-structural relat
ion is discussed.
