The rectangular plate made of dissimilar materials is studied by bound
ary collocation computations. The eigenvalues and eigenfunctions ar: d
etermined and the first coefficient of the eigenfunction expansion, th
e stress intensity factor, is considered in detail. A simple relation
between stress intensity factor, singularity exponent, and Dundurs par
ameter a is proposed, and the influence of the plate length is discuss
