S. Martin et al., LANDFILL GAS EXTRACTION TECHNOLOGY - STUDY, SIMULATION AND MANUALLY CONTROLLED EXTRACTION, Bioresource technology, 62(1-2), 1997, pp. 47-54
An analysis of the variables which affect the recovery of landfill gas
was carried out. In order to understand the working of biogas wells,
a non-sophisticated mathematical model was proposed. Then, a method fo
r controlling the rate of landfill gas extraction was defined using th
e composition of the extracted gas as the control parameter The end re
sult of the practical application of this method in the sanitary landf
ill of the La Zoreda (Asturias, Spain) showed that the control paramet
er could be successfully employed on an intermittent basis using manua
l controls and that it did not require extensive automation. (C) 1997
