BUSINESS INFORMATION SUPPORT FOR THE RUBBER INDUSTRY

This paper is a survey of the organizations which regularly provide bu siness and economic information that concern the rubber and rubber pro ducts industry. The publications issued by various organizations are e xamined with detailed information on availability given in the referen ces. The objective of this review is to provide an awareness of what s ources are available rather than the retrieval of the information thro ugh the various database services. Among the organizations whose publi cations are mentioned are the International Rubber Study Group (IRSG), the International Institute of Synthetic Rubber Producers (IISRP) and the Rubber Manufacturers Association (RMA). Publications of commercia l organizations such as Crain Communications, Lippincott and Pete, and Rapra Technology Ltd. are also included, as are sources of informatio n from the U.S. Government. Internet sources are briefly reviewed.
