Abstract
Combinations of Si-Al mixed with zeolites have shown a promising futur e as base supports for acid-base and oxidation reactions. An effective , although expensive, approach for Si-Al support preparation is based on the solid being formed from Si and Al alkoxides in alcohol. A varia tion of this method based on the mixing of alkoxides and inorganic Si and Al precursors during gelation is presented. Analyses show a crysta l network completely dehydroxylated, which may indicate a more effecti ve insertion of metal loadings into the network.
