Nh. Choi et Sj. Kim, ARTHROSCOPIC REDUCTION AND FIXATION OF BONY AVULSION OF THE POSTERIORCRUCIATE LIGAMENT OF THE TIBIA, Arthroscopy, 13(6), 1997, pp. 759-762
Bony avulsion fractures of the posterior cruciate ligament of the tibi
a have commonly been treated by open reduction and internal fixation u
sing the posterior approach. However, this approach, using the prone p
osition, makes it difficult to investigate and treat other combined in
juries of the knee joint. We report a case of posterior cruciate ligam
ent avulsion of the tibia that was arthroscopically reduced and firmly
fixed with two cannulated screws. The posterior sag was absent after
the operation and the result was excellent. By arthroscopy, we got rig
id fixation of the avulsed fragment for early rehabilitation, and dete
ction of a concomitant injury was also possible.
