OPERATING-CONDITIONS OF CONTROLLED POWER TRANSMISSION-LINES

The paper considers an a.c. controlled transmission line with a low-po wer d.c/a.c. back-to-back link used as a controller. Analytical relati onships are obtained which link operating parameters of the controlled power transmission line and operating parameters of its converter par t. The line considered is shown to be an efficient means of active pow er flow control with the possibility of obtaining the optimum reactive power flows at the ends of the line.
