Abstract
A new diterpenoid, cladiellaperoxide (2), has been isolated from the s oft coral Cladiella sphaeroides, together with the known diterpenoid c ladiellisin (1). Their structures were characterized by NMR studies an d chemical conversion. The absolute configurations of 1 and 2 have bee n elucidated by the modified Mosher method. Compound 2 showed lethalit y toward brine shrimp.
