THERAPEUTIC APPROACHES TO RESPIRATORY-DISEASES EXCLUDING ASTHMA - TRENDS FROM THE PATENT LITERATURE 1993-1997

This review is based on analysis of the patents published in the perio d January 1993 to August 1997 and provides an assessment of therapeuti c approaches for the treatment of bronchitis, emphysema, cystic fibros is, pulmonary fibrosis and adult respiratory distress syndrome (ARDS). Each distinct therapeutic approaches to each of these diseases is con sidered, and an analysis of where these approach may be used to treat more than one such disease is presented. An indication of major corpor ate involvement in each area is also provided.
