Abstract
With an origin birth metabolic (synthesis from L. lysine and L. methio nine) and nutrional, the amount of datas available on L. carnitine in dogs has been recently highly increased. The main role of L. carnitine is to enouive the transportation of fatty acids through the mitochond rial membran, but certain situations, such as endurance stamina, some cardine affections (dilated cardiomyopathy...) induce a nutritional re quirement that ranges respectively from 50 to 100 and from 100 to ZOO mg of L. carnitine per kilo body weight, an medium or long term supple mentations.
