Abstract
Racomitrium visnadiae is described from Parque Nacional do Caparao in Minas Gerais, Brazil. It is characterized by its aquatic habitat, stou t long-excurrent costa, and unistratose lamina. The species is postula ted to be most closely related to the Fuegian R. bartramii (Roiv.) H. Rob. and is placed in subgen. Ellipricodryptodon (Vilh.) Bedn.-Ochyra & Ochyra sect. Ellipticodryptodon.
