Abstract
Pilot paper machine evaluations were carried out to determine the effe cts of before size press drying and size press starch addition level o n internal and surface sizing agent efficiency. Both drying and starch addition level had large effects on internal size efficiency. The imp ortance of the effects decreased as internal size addition level incre ased. The level of sizing obtained from the internal size had a large effect on the efficiency of an SMA surface size.
