Abstract
Model prostaglandins were reacted with dimethylthiophosphinic chloride to form suitable derivatives using dimethylaminopyridine as a catalys t for supercritical fluid chromatography with thermionic detection. Th e high sensitivity of this phosphorus-selective detector-makes it feas ible to detect biologically important prostaglandins and related metab olites in physiological fluids at nanogram-per-milliliter concentratio ns.
