Abstract
We present the clinical and postmortem findings of the first photograp hically documented case of asplenia and interrupted inferior vena cava and the anatomic findings of 5 previously reported cases. A brief rev iew of the various hereditary patterns of visceral situs abnormalities suggests that, at least in some cases, the asplenia and polysplenia s yndromes are etiologically and pathogenetically interrelated.
