Abstract
Antioxidative components in the methanol extract of the root of Astrag alus membranaceus Bunge were investigated by using an evaluation metho d based on the air oxidation of linoleic acid. Afrormosin, calycosin a nd odoratin were found to be active components, These antioxidative ac tivities are superior or similar to those of butyl hydroxytoluene and alpha-tocopherol.
