MALIGNANT hyperthermia (MH) is generally thought of in its fulminant f orm, manifesting as severe hypercapnia, uncontrollable hyperthermia, a nd accompanied by hyperkalemia with cardiac dysrhythmias. We report a case of an adult surgical patient who developed severe postoperative r habdomyolysis without other symptoms and who was subsequently found by muscle biopsy to be MH susceptible.
