Abstract
The complexes formed by trans-HONO isomer with acetone and diethyl eth er have been observed and characterized in argon matrices. The OH stre tching vibration of perturbed trans-HONO monomer is 413, 376 cm(-1) re d shifted, whereas the NOH bending mode is 138, 112 cm(-1) blue shifte d, respectively, for the acetone and diethyl ether complex, which indi cates formation of strong molecular hydrogen bonds in both complexes.
