The optical absorption spectra of gamma-irradiated 1-propanol-methylcy
clohexane mixtures at 77 K in glassy matrices has been measured. The b
and shape, band width, and the maximum peak position of the band at 51
6 nm assigned to the solvated electron localized on 1-propanol molecul
es have been studied as a function of 1-propanol mole fraction in the
full concentration range. The comparison between the experiment and th
eoretical model provides new arguments in the discussion on the mechan
