DIFFERENTIAL-DIAGNOSIS OF THE PORCINE PIT UITARY ABSCESS SYNDROME (CASE-REPORT)

In a three years old sow, neurologic signs resulting from lesions of s ome cranial nerves and similar to the symptoms typical of porcine pitu itary abscesses were described. A generalized leukosis with tumor cell infiltration occurring in numerous organs e. g. in the pituitary glan d was diagnosed in this animal. The neurologic and pathogenetic differ ences between the described case and the porcine pituitary abscess syn drome were discussed.
