Fibroepithelial polyps of the ureter are rare, benign tumors often not
easily distinguished from malignant transitional-cell carcinomas by r
adiologic means, Historically, many patients have undergone unnecessar
y nephroureterectomy for these lesions. With recent advancement in end
ourologic instrumentation, a biopsy-proven diagnosis of suspect upper-
tract lesions can be made prior to definitive therapy. We describe a t
ypical case of fibroepithelial ureteral polyp wherein the diagnosis an
d surgical treatment mas accomplished entirely by endoscopic means.
