A 74-year-old man presented with shortness of breath and vague chest p
ain. A chest roentgenogram showed subtotal atelectasis of the upper lo
be of the left lung and a CT scan revealed an occlusion of the bronchu
s of the upper lobe of the left lung by an intraluminal tumor. A well-
circumscribed yellow tumor obstructing the bronchus of the upper lobe
of the left lung was seen by fiberoptic bronchoscopy. Biopsies reveale
d mature fat tissue and small areas with hone consistent with the diag
nosis of an endobronchial predominantly lipomatous hamartoma.
