Dv. Evtuguin et D. Robert, THE DETECTION OF MUCONIC ACID TYPE STRUCTURES IN OXIDIZED LIGNINS BY C-13 NMR-SPECTROSCOPY, Wood Science and Technology, 31(6), 1997, pp. 423-431
C-13 NMR spectroscopic studies of spruce oxygen-organosolv lignins ind
icated the presence of muconic acid type structures. This confirms pre
vious chemical analysis which reached the same conclusion. Resonances
of the muconic acid structures in the NMR spectra of oxidized lignins
were assigned using a model compound.
