Abstract
Cancelling periodic noise signals at the input to sensing systems sign ificantly eases the requirements for dynamic range, loop gain and slew rate. A method of cancelling mains-induced noise at the input to a SQ UID magnetometer has been demonstrated to reduce noise levels by 60 dB or more. The method has particular application when the magnetometer is used in an unshielded environment.
