STRUCTURE OF THE RIPHEAN SEDIMENTARY BASI NS ON THE SIBERIAN PLATFORM

The main features of a modern model for the structure of the Riphean s edimentary basins on the Siberian Platform are described in brief. The initial information was data on many-year stratigraphical research, l ithologo-formational analysis, and structural reconstructions of the r elief of the lower and upper limiting surfaces of the Riphean megacomp lex. According to their position in the regional tectonic plan the Rip hean sedimentary basins of the Siberian Platform are subdivided into t wo groups: <<craton-marginal>> and <<intracratonic>>. Their characteri stic features are given. The described model For the structure of sedi mentary basins may be used to solve a wide range of problems of region al geology and petroleum potential of the Riphean oil-and gas-bearing complex on the Siberian Platform.
