During the last several years, major forest products companies have ut ilized third-party financing for powerhouse replacements, upgrades, an d/or asset sales. This paper describes the alternative third-party fin ancing structures which have been utilized, the cost of these alternat ive structures compared to self-financing, pros and cons of this appro ach, and necessary project-specific requirements.
