Milk intake, weight gain, growth rate and energy requirements of roe d
eer fawns were investigated during their first 10 weeks of life. A bet
ter development of fawns was achieved by using Salvana lamb milk repla
cer compared to Manasan for human infant. During the first 7 weeks of
age milk intake increased from 173 ml d(-1) to 993 ml * d(-1). Milk
replacer was supplemented with solid feed after 50 days to meet energy
and protein requirements of the growing animals.
