This paper introduces a scheme for classifications of concepts. It is
founded on rile triplet model of concepts. This model depicts a concep
t by means of three kinds of knowledge: a concept base, a concept-repr
esenting part and the linkage between them. Informally, the concept ba
se deals with entities subsumed under a concept and their properties a
nd relations. The concept-representing parr deals with tools and forms
of representing these entities and their properties and relations in
some intelligent system. Tile linkage deals with establishing tile pro
per correspondences between components of the base and the representin
g part. Each of these knowledge kinds is associated with specific stru
ctures related to concepts (symbols, names, statements, images, rests,
entities and their properties and relations, procedures of determinat
ion of property values, etc.) Various informal and formal (mainly set-
theoretical) specifications of these structures serve as criteria for
triplet classifications of concepts.
