Abstract
A detailed examination of the pulse-height spectra from He-3 and (BF3) -B-10 proportional counters, placed inside a polythene moderator, and irradiated by neutrons, has led to the discovery of a ''neutron event free-energy window''. It has been shown that this window can be used f or the registration of gamma radiation without disturbing the registra tion of neutrons. A new method for measuring the ambient dose equivale nt in mixed neutron-gamma radiation fields has been proposed.
