T. Romer, THE VALUE OF GONADOTROPIN-RELEASING-HORMO NE AGONIST PRETREATMENT BEFORE TRANSCERVICAL RESECTION OF SOLITARY SUBMUCOUS MYOMAS, Gynakologisch-geburtshilfliche Rundschau, 36(4), 1997, pp. 194-196
In a retrospective study, the value of pretreatment with a gonadotropi
n-releasing-hormone (GnRH) agonist before hysteroscopic myoma resectio
n was assessed in 31 patients suffering from menorrhagia. No differenc
e in operating time, intra-operative fluid deficit, blood loss and pos
toperative eumenorrhoea rate was found between pretreated and non-pret
reated patients with solitary submucous myomas smaller than 4 cm in di
ameter. Thus, pretreatment with GnRH agonists before the resection of
small solitary submucous myomas has no benefit for the patients.
