Abstract
Over the past two decades, Candida species have come to be regarded as important agents of nosocomial infection. In this paper, initially pr esented as a teaching conference at the Yale University School of Medi cine, we summarize recent information pertaining to the epidemiology, diagnosis, and treatment of systemic Candida infections.
