M. Werteker et al., DISTRIBUTION OF RADIONUCLIDES CS-137 AND SR-90 IN DIFFERENT FRACTIONSOF FLOUR AND WHOLE WHEAT KERNELS, Die Bodenkultur, 48(3), 1997, pp. 159-163
The activity of Sr-90 in cereals has diminished to 0,31 Bq/kg, or simi
lar like before the accident of Chernobyl and the one of Cs-137 has de
creased to less than 0,16 Bq/kg in 1995. These traces are usually dete
cted by gamma-spectrometry and the application of measuring times of u
p to 200.000 sec. The level of Sr-90-activity is mainly influenced by
the traces of the bomb-fallout in the 50(th) and 60(th). The concentra
tion of Sr-90 in the flour fractions and in bran is correlated directl
y with the ash-content (r = 0,92).
