Jc. Coetzee et J. Joubert, THE EFFECT OF THE INCLUSION OF HIGHER-ORDER INTERNAL COUPLING ON WAVE-GUIDE SLOT ARRAY PERFORMANCE, Microwave and optical technology letters, 17(2), 1998, pp. 76-81
It is known that the inclusion of higher order internal coupling effec
ts in the design of waveguide slot arrays may result in machinable dif
ferences in slot offsets and discernible deviations in slot lengths, e
specially for reduced-height waveguides. However, the impact of these
physical differences on the frequency-dependent array performance has
never been quantified. The existing analysis technique for slot arrays
does not make provision for the effects of higher internal coupling.
In this paper, the analysis procedure is amended to include this effec
t. This facilitates an investigation into the variation in frequency p
erformance for arrays designed by either neglecting or including highe
r order internal coupling. For the specific example treated in this pa
per, the variations were minimal. (C) 1998 John Wiley & Sons, Inc.
