Abstract
A systematic review of the aleocharine genus Liparocephalus Maklin is presented. Liparocephalus Maklin is redescribed, and three species (L. brevipennis Maklin, L. cordicollis LeConte, L. tokunagai Sakaguti) ar e described. Late instar larvae oft. cordicollis are redescribed and l ate instar larvae of L. brevipennis and L. tokunagai are described for the first time. A key is provided for separation of both adults and l ate instar larvae of known species of Liparocephalus, and illustration s of diagnostic features are presented.
