Abstract
Litoprosopus bajaensis Brown and Faulkner, NEW SPECIES, a taxon endemi c to the northern portion of the Vizcaino Desert, Baja California, Mex ico, is described and illustrated. The description is based on six spe cimens (two males and four females) collected between 31 March and 1 M ay (1975-1985). The combination of the long curved ampulla, short thir d segment of the labial palpus, and pale fawn-gray forewing color sepa rate L. bajaensis from all other species of Litoprosopus.
