Measurements of Coulomb excitation probabilities of the first 2(1)(+)
state of Ru-100,Ru-102,Ru-104 were carried out using back-scattered io
ns of He-4 and O-16. The static quadrupole moments Q(21+) and the redu
ced transition probabilities B(E2,0(1)(+)-->2(1)(+)) have been determi
ned using the reorientation effect, Thr quadrupole moments Q(21-) dedu
ced for the positive sign of the 2(2)(+) interference term are -0.54+/
-0.07 eb, -0.64+/-0.05 eb, -0.62+/-0.08 eb for Ru-100, Ru-102, and Ru-
104, respectively. The reduced transition probabilities B(E2:0(1)(+)--
>2(1)(+)) are 0.493+/-0.003 e(2)b(2), 0.614+/-0.004 e(2)b(2), and 0.80
9+/-0.006 e(2)b(2), respectively. A compilation of the available exper
imental results for the reduced eletric quadrupole transition probabil
ity B(E2:0(1)(+)-->2(1)(+)) and for the static quadrupole moments Q(21
+) for the even ruthenium stable isotopes (96 less than or equal to A
less than or equal to 104) are presented.
