This article describes the context of psychoanalytical approaches and
their influence upon child and adolescent psychiatry in an historical
and organisational perspective. It deals with some current advances an
d discussions with regard to technical aspects: indication, frame and
process as well as extensions of technique, that will raise weaknesses
in questions about training in psychotherapy.
