Abstract
Many studies have demonstrated that humans have inherited a preference for sweet foods. A moderate consumption of su eet products can be tol erated in childhood without impairing the nutritional or sensory quali ty of the diet. In present diets the average proportion of sugar consu med after the second year of rife is much higher than recommended. Nut rition counselling can demonstrate practical tips for moderate use of sweet products in children's diet.
